First Arabesque
First Arabesque

First Arabesque Russian Dancer body supported on one supporting leg with the working leg lifted at a right angle to the supporting leg. Dancer’s body is inclined forward from the waist, and the back is arched. Arm on the side of the supporting leg is extended forward and the other arm draws to the side a little behind the second position.

Second Arabesque Russian Dancer body and legs are the same as in the first arabesque. Arms are reversed. Supporting leg arm to the back and working leg arm to the front. Dancer’s head is turned toward the audience.

Third Arabesque
Third Arabesque

Third Arabesque Vaganova Russian Dancer faces diagonally toward the audience. Supporting leg nearer the audience with the working leg raised in croise derriere at right angles to the supporting leg. The Dancer’s body is inclined forward with the arm opposite the supporting leg extended forward, level with the shoulder and the other arm extended to the side. Dancer’s head is turned toward the forward arm.
