EME 2040 Story

Digital Story how I turned my knowledge into a business.

In the article “Digital storytelling: A meaningful technology-integrated approach for engaged student learning,” Alaa Sadiku examines the use of digital storytelling as a teaching tool to improv student engagement and learning (Sadiku, 2008). With an emphasis on the example of Egyptian education reforms mеant to improve technological integration in teachіng, Sadako emphasizes thе need of providing educators with thе skills and knowlеdgе they need to us technology іn the classroom.

Through digital storytelling in the study, students are encouraged to share their stories using tools that facilitate the production and editing of their narratives, such as MS Photo Story. The process not only stimulates the knowledge of students but also makes them have crucial technical skills. The research reviews digital storytelling effectiveness by different methods which include digital evaluating rubrics, technology observation integration instruments, and also interviews (Sadiku, 2008). Such outcomes revealed that the technique of digital storytelling could have a deep impact on learners' knowledge about the curricular subject and their understanding of the reality of learning. While teachers sometimes experience impediments to the fact that digital storytelling is part of their teaching methods and syllabus, there is also openness towards adapting the pedagogic.

A good story, as stated in the empirical evidence, is comprised of many activities that create a true interaction, leading to the pull-out of knowledge in a way that the students never experienced before the new technology was introduced. Digital storytelling is a new way of storytelling that very much relies on the area of creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills training by adapting the story-making process to the digital world that is more interactive and engaging for the audience. Digital storytelling is a highly engaging classroom learning tool, as mindfulness, intrinsic motivation, cognitive effort, and concentration are put to use. It offers a variety of activities and interactive tasks, and these are the ones that are always needed for learning success. As part of the training on how to use digital storytelling, trainers must gain awareness of digital storytelling methods and tools, have an understanding of the pedagogical objectives, and design storytelling projects which correspond with these aims.

The question that I would like to ask: How can educators assess the impact of digital storytelling on students' long-term retention of knowledge and skills acquired through this method?
