Sit a chair with a firm base towards the front of the chair. Left foot placed slightly forward. The cello should rest against the chest. Balancing the cello between your knees. The knees are used to firmly steady the cello. The scroll and neck of the cello is to the left of your head. The lowest tuning peg is approximately the same height as your ear.
